Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage is a famous American actor. Born into an artistic family, his father was August Coppola, former Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of San Francisco, and his uncle was Francis Coppola, the great director known for such films as The Godfather and Apocalypse Now. His cousin is Sofia Coppola, the young woman who has finally made the leap to become America's most original and promising director with films such as Lost in Tokyo and The Greatest Showman. A member of the Coppola family, he grew up in an environment full of music and books, and developed a keen interest in acting and photography. He began to enter the film industry at the age of 17, taking the surname of his favourite composer John Cage instead, so as not to be influenced by his uncle's fame. Another account has it that at the age of 19, he changed his surname in honour of his favourite comic book character, 1 black mercenary with a sword and a gun: Luke Cage.
