Driving Miss Daisy

Driving Miss Daisy (Original Title)

Winn-Dixie grew up in a poor place as a child, and it took the rise of her husband's business to bring their family into prosperity, so Winn-Dixie is very thrifty. Now that she is too old to drive herself, her son hires Hawk, a black chauffeur, for her, but Winn-Dixie dislikes it very much. She avoids the trip at first , because she doesn't want Hawk to be the driver, and then she realizes that it seems so uneconomical for her son to pay for it and not have him work for it...

EN: Yes, sir. You are right about that. It only took me six days. Same time it took the Lord to make the world.

EN: I think you're the best widow in the State of Georgia.

EN: History will have to record… that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition… was not the vitriolic words and the violent actions of the bad people… but the appalling silence and indifference of the good people. And our generation will have to repent… not only for the words and acts of the children of darkness… but also for the fears and apathy of the children of light.

EN: An old nigger and an old Jew woman riding down the road together. Now that is one sorry sight.
